My 1996 Honda Passport broke down last week, so I figured it's time to let it go. After doing some research, mostly from Yelp, I decided to give them a call. Skip was really friendly and helpful. I called right before the afternoon rush hour, so they'd pick it up the next day. Before the pickup, Skip called to confirm both the appointment and the car's details, and sent Donny. Donny gave me a call an hour before the pickup as a reminder. I work at a part of Downtown LA with lots of construction going on, so I had to give him detour instructions. I'm bad at giving instructions, but he's really really really patient about it, which is a huge relief. The paperwork was really easy, and I got paid good. Amazing transaction overall. Also, their "business cards" are pens with smiley faces in it. Really brightens up an already awesome service. Will definitely recommend them, especially to my dad after I convince him to recycle the old car he doesn't drive.

I don't write many reviews, but I am going to take the time to write this one since Westside Auto Recycling is more than deserving of it. If I could double the 5-Star rating for Skip I most definitely would. I called and he personally answered and told me he could be at my place in 30 minutes (I called a few other places, left a message and never got a return call). Over the years, I have dealt, both personally and professionally with many companies, be it a large or a small, and I have to say Skip has by far surpassed many when it comes to dealing with people on a business level. He is honest, fair and most of all easy to deal with. He should be used as a business model so every person or company no matter what business would have the same level of expertise and the same high standards for customer care he has.

I'm really glad I found this place. My car was done and I needed a junk place to come and pick it up. So I called one place and they offered to come pick it up the next day, but they left me hanging so I called another place and they told me it will take a week for them to pick my car up. I found this place here on yelp and believe me they're very professional. I made the call and 5 minutes later their driver called me to set the time for pick up. I asked him if he could be at my house at 9 a.m. and he said yes. The next day he was here at 8:40 a.m. and 10 minutes later my car was gone. I was relieved my car was gone. The driver's name was Donny if I remember. He was really nice and I gave him my title and keys, he handed me a check, hooked my car and done.I highly recommend this place if you need to get rid of your clunker.

This place was awesome. Service was incredible. I literally called and within an hour they were at the location picking up the 2003 Lincoln Navigator. This will be the only place I use for my future needs!!

Great service. Someday pick up. Friendly employees and great customer service. I was in a major bind with storage space and they saved the day! Highly recommended!

Would recommend this business to anyone needing to get rid of a vehicle. Top notch and very professional from start to finish. Donnie was great at getting an old vehicle out from a second basement floor of a garage and even met me with my gate key after I had left it behind in the car. If I need to recycle another vehicle, I wouldn't go anywhere else and neither should you.

If I could give Skip 10 stars, I would!!! I had been preparing to sell/donate my little Nissan Sentra, which was having a lot of trouble starting, when I discovered that it had been towed (apparently it's illegal to leave a car parked on a public street in LA for more than 72 hours at a time!). Skip was incredibly helpful from the get-go. He advised me not to leave my car at the impound (this place got particularly crummy reviews on yelp) and to instead sell my car to Westside Autorecycling. After calling the impound on my behalf to make sure the business accepted credit cards, Skip drove ALL THE WAY from Santa Monica to North Hollywood just to make sure I wasn't taken advantage of by scummy impound folk (and to help tow away my car, of course)! He suggested that I wait for him before going inside the impound to pay so that the guys there wouldn't play any tricks on me; it was like having my dad by my side! He then waited patiently while I cleaned out my embarrassingly messy trunk, and paid me the promised amount in cash on the spot. This helped me to cover the cost of the impound and the ensuing ticket. Skip promised to handle all of the DMV paperwork for me and just asked for my title and signature, simple as that! He then hooked my car up to his tow truck and took it off my hands. I felt so happy and comfortable leaving my sweet little Nissan - the one that had so lovingly driven me from NY to LA - in the hands of a very caring and honest human being. This guy seriously rocks!!! Please call him if you ever need to sell or donate your car. I guarantee you will not be disappointed :)

The best! Fantastic service both on the phone and in person. Had a car with a host of problems that hadn't been driven in years -- stuck in an underground garage. In no time at all they had it out and on its way. Westside Auto Recycling were polite, honest, informative, and made it all super easy.

First Class Service and extreamly friendly. Didn't initially have the title of the car but that didn't prevent them from towing my car and giving me money for the totaled car.

My boyfriend and I recently moved here from Fresno, CA and our car died on us so we ended up purchasing a new car. We didn't have the title and just wanted the car gone. We read the reviews on yelp and gave westside auto recycling a call and told him about our situation. Skip was so friendly and gave us very useful advice about different areas of LA. Excellent service and Skip is a genuine friendly guy, hard to find in LA. I would recommend skip and his service to anyone in need to get rid of their car. He truly has professional service.

I'd heard good things on Yelp about this business and the good reviews are well-deserved. I got a price from Junk My Car that was okay, but I decided to give them a call just in case. They gave me a better price even without having to haggle, then came over and picked it up the same day. The agent I spoke to on the phone was very nice, and had a driver on the way almost immediately. He told me they take customer service very seriously, and it shows. The driver who came over was very courteous and helpful. The glove compartment was stuck shut and he helped us get it open before he took the car so we could get our things out of it. He also told me exactly how to go about reporting the vehicle transfer to the DMV, which was so easy. I'd been so confused trying to figure it out myself before with the DMV's posted information, so I appreciated it! Would definitely use them again when recycling a car. They're courteous, fast, and honest.

Skip was very helpful and made the process easy. He came out for an estimate. It wasn't as much as I had hoped but I would have only gotten maybe $200 more for it on craigslist or a dealership trade-in, if I could even sell it at all (it wasn't in great shape). He came out again to tow it. I didn't have the title so he said he would just stop by again and pick it up once I got it (it was from out of state). Three trips for a POS car is a lot more than almost everyone would do! I would definitely recommend going here if you want something quick and easy.

Needed to get rid of an old car sitting in my garage. Called Westside Auto Recycling and they came in just a couple of hours to pick it up. Skip was fantastic, amazingly cordial, and easy to work with. He constantly kept in touch, letting me know when he would be coming and the transaction was quick and painless. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Thanks again Skip!

What can I say?
Westside Auto Recycling showed up exactly on time and did exactly what they said they would do. They picked up my old clunker in a matter of minutes and I could not be more happy with the customer service. I am extremely satisfied with my experience and will recommend Westside Auto Recycling to all my family and friends.

I'm commandeering my sisters Yelp account to write this, but all I have to say is this place is absolutely AMAZING!!!!! I don't live in LA but my cousin recently moved there and got into a really bad accident, she has no family there and I live in San Diego so we didn't know what to do. I found Westside Auto by absolute chance, it was almost FATE because when I called and told Skip my situation all he wanted to do was help me and my cousin who was being ripped off by a local tow company that had absolutely no respect for other people and their situations. The tow company that was holding my cousins wrecked car was asking for $225 to release the car, which is a ridiculous amount of money for a simple tow!!! Skip told me that these guys are the typical type of crooks who try to just hustle money out of people. The other tow company was making so difficult for my cousin and wanted her to pay a fee and still keep her car! Skip and this company are absolutely amazing human beings who really do care!!!!!!! He had one of his drivers come and pay to release her car!!!!! We were more then happy to let Skip keep her car and benefit from what he could salvage.
These guys went above and beyond to help us and I don't know how to repay them! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!

I was really happy with the way Donnie came on time was very helpful and even gave us some pointers on getting our totaled car taken care of with the DMV. I set this up with Skip and then the tow was done from start to finish in 20 minutes. Really great company, if you need to use a towing company, these are your guys.

I was extremely suspicious that this company had all 5-star reviews, but they're the real deal! I spoke to Skip on the phone to get a quote and schedule a tow for my 2000 Jetta that didn't run anymore, and he was friendly and professional. The tow truck driver Donny called me the next morning, like Skip said he would, and Donny let me know when he was leaving and when he arrived. Donny filled out my title (I just had to sign), told me how to notify the DMV, and handed me a check for $200 (just like Skip had said). The whole process took less than 24 hours from phone call to tow. And they drove all the way up here to Northridge, probably 45 minutes away.
I might have gotten more money by listing my car on Craigslist and haggling for a price or whatever, but honestly I just wanted a quick, hassle-free experience, and this was probably the easiest transaction I've ever made (except for the heartbreak of losing my old buddy, of course). Skip and Donny were both friendly, helpful, and professional, and treated me like my business really mattered, which is just so, so rare. Definitely a good experience.
